2009 ACM AWARDS - QUICK FACTS

The Academy of Country Music Awards air live on CBS, April 5, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Nominees were announced at a Nashville press conference on February 11, 2009 at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum.  Stars who took part in announcing the nominations included: Julianne Hough, LeAnn Rimes, Jessica Simpson and Kellie Pickler. The nominations were read during the live broadcast of CBS' The Early Show.

The fans get to vote again for Entertainer of the Year. Fans will also have the chance for the first time to cast their votes for the Top New Artist.

Brad Paisley leads with 6 nominations including Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist of the Year and Song & Single of the Year.

Heidi Newfield received 5 nominations which include Top Female Vocalist plus Single, Song and Video of the Year.
