Charlie Robison's Beautiful Debut; Unanimous Critical Praise and Numberous Chart Appearances

It’s taken five years, but according to the critics and the charts, Charlie Robison’s CD Beautiful Day has been well worth the wait. Four Top 20 chart positions, including iTunes’ Sales Chart, and slots on Billboard’s Current Country Album Chart (#33), Indie Music Chart (#47) and overall Country Album Chart (#50) have been fueled by unanimous critical praise for Robison’s Beautiful Day.

All have a raved: “A lyrical masterpiece” (The San Antonio Express-News), “Robison’s pain is the listener’s gain” (The Oakland Press), “Beautiful Day, beautiful music” (AOL) and what might be the highest of praise, The Boston Globe’s comparisons of Beautiful Day with Willie Nelson’s Phases and Stages” and Tom Petty’s “Echo”.

While Robison’s last album found him celebrating wedded and domestic contentment as husband to Emily of The Dixie Chicks, Robison’s Beautiful Day explores his divorce, which was finalized in August of last year.  There seems to be no question that Beautiful Day is a CD of deep and rich emotional music for anyone who has ever lived, loved and lost.

“In the past most of my songs were stories written from a third-person perspective,” he explains. “This is the first album where I’m writing in the first person and as you hear the record you’ll know what was going on with the divorce,” Charlie admits.

Robison’s last album and label debut for Dualtone Records, Good Times, solidified his position in country music. Good Times racked up what were at the time the best sales of his career, and the video for the single "El Cerrito Place" was a Top 10 Hit on the CMT Network.

Mark Chesnutt Comes Forward To Help Youth In Life Battle

Chesnutt To Perform At Special Benefit Concert For 5-Year-Old Kendrick Little & Family

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — One of country music’s most recognizable voices, Mark Chesnutt, has generously come forward to donate his time and talent to perform at the Kendrick Little Benefit Concert. This charitable effort has been organized for the benefit of Kendrick Little, a 5-year-old boy who is fighting a life battle with High-Grade Glioma (HGG), a rare and fatal form of brainstem cancer that affects nearly 300 children per year. The concert will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Asbury Park Complex at 6PM in Comanche, OK; proceeds from the benefit will be dedicated to assist the family with young Kendrick’s expenses.

With the loving support and strength from family and friends, Kendrick Little (a former resident of Comanche, OK) has been bravely fighting an Intrinsic Brainstem High-Grade Glioma tumor (graded at a 3-4 scale on a scale 1-4) since Thanksgiving 2008. The deadly tumor originated in the brainstem and flowered to the left hemisphere of the young boy’s brain. Kendrick underwent an intense 15-hour surgery after the initial diagnosis; 65-70 percent of the tumor was successfully removed. After completing a 30-day course of radiation therapy, the tumor was further reduced surprising doctors--as this optimum result has not been achieved in prior cases with this type of cancer.

There is no cure for HGG. Kendrick’s physician, who has consulted with top cancer specialists from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX) and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, TN), has surmised Kendrick’s life span to be 12-18 months. The medical bills the family has incurred while fighting this battle are insurmountable and Mark Chesnutt graciously stepped forward to show his support.

“This event is special for me and I am honored to help this family,” said Chesnutt. “With three young and healthy kids, it is hard to think about what little Kendrick and his family are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with them all as they live day-to-day fighting this silent killer.”

Mark Chesnutt is a country music industry veteran having performed at various benefit concerts throughout his 19-year career. To date, he has four platinum albums, five gold albums, 14 No. 1 singles and 23 Top 10 singles to his name. Mark most recent release, "She Never Got Me Over You" (written by Keith Whitley/Dean Dillon/Hank Cochran and produced by Jimmy Ritchey) is classic, "must hear" music and is receiving overwhelming applause from country music fans young and old. It is the last song Keith Whitley wrote and comes from Chesnutt's latest CD project ROLLIN' WITH THE FLOW (Lofton Creek Records).

The Asbury Complex is located at 410 South 2nd Street, Comanche, OK.  Tickets are $50 per person; for more ticket information or how you can make your contribution to assist Kendrick Little and his family, contact: geanannbadgwell@clearwire.net.

Randy Houser Kicks Into The Top 10 With Single "Boots On"

Nashville, TN Universal Records South recording artist, Randy Houser, has broken into the Top 10 with his hit single "Boots On," making him the first new male country artist to reach the Top 10 in 2009. In addition to Houser's "Boots On," Universal Records South also seized the Top 10 earlier this year with Eli Young Band’s single "Always The Love Songs" - making them the only label to have two debut artists break the Top 10 at radio this year.

“Boots On” is the first Top 10 single by a new male country artist since Chuck Wicks’ single “Stealing Cinderella” in February of 2008 – nearly a year-and-a half later.

In conjunction with a Top 10 single for "Boots On", Houser also has a Top 10 video for the song on the iTunes Country Chart and Clear Channel's On-Demand, making it one of the fastest climbing singles and video by a debut country artist in 2009. The innovative video for the song incorporates an original home video that was posted to YouTube of four-year-old Drake Dixon rocking out to "Boots On". This original clip was edited together with Houser's video footage, creating the first country video of its kind. The video has received a huge response not only from fans, but also from other artists. Keith Urban recently told People magazine his favorite current country video was "Boots On" saying, "It's simple, it's cute, it's funny. I love it."

The video has surpassed a million combined streams and has received attention from CBS's “The Early Show”, CNN's “Morning Edition”, and Perez Hilton. It is also making its way up the video countdown charts on both CMT (debuting and maintaining Top 20 status since its second week of release) and GAC.

Eli Young Band’s follow up single, “Radio Waves”, has been one of the most added singles its first two weeks of release.

Jimmy Wayne Turns "I'll Be That" Into First Live Performance Video

Nashville, TN Jimmy Wayne's new music video for "I'll Be That" was shot during his concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in his hometown, Charlotte, NC, adding even more excitement to an already energy infused performance. Wayne describes the song as a "fun, summertime, roll down the windows and ride" kind of song, and that is exactly the kind of feel producer/director Todd Cassetty attached to the video.

"Jimmy is a very visual performer and full of energy," Cassetty said. "When you throw in the added bonus of filming this in front of a big audience of screaming hometown fans, well it was all our cameras could do to keep up with him.  He was all over that stage."

To capture the excitement of the moment, Cassetty and his team from Todd Cassetty Welding Service utilized multiple cameras for the live performance.  A camera crew also followed the Valory Music Co. artist throughout the day, adding in elements from meetings with fans as well as radio station visits, giving the video some unexpected surprises.

Wayne's highly anticipated hometown show was also opening night of Brad Paisley's American Saturday Night Tour.  Wayne will be on the road with Paisley and Dierks Bentley through October.

"That night was one of the biggest nights of my career," Wayne said. "Not only was it opening night of a tour I am so proud to be a part of, I also got to shoot my first ever performance video in my hometown for a song I co-wrote. How can it get any better?"

It can.  GAC will begin airing the video Monday July 6th.  Additionally, CMT Pure added the music video out of the box this week and put it in heavy rotation.

Wayne's latest single from his  CD Do You Believe Me Now follows on the heels of the multi-week #1 smash title track and the second hit single, "I Will."
