Nashville Star 2005 Finalists
Street Date: March 22, 2005

The USA Series Nashville Star has once again found some great undiscovered talent.  Jayron Weaver, Jason Meadows, and Erica Jo are among the lead runners for this season.  With the elimination of Tamika Tyler on last nights' episode (3/29/05) the contestants now definitely have to step it up a notch.

The Nashville Star finalists are: Jenny Farrell, Justin David, Erica Jo, Jody Evans, Jason Meadows,
and Jayron Weaver.  Those who have been eliminated are: Casey Simpson, Christy McDonald, Tamika Tyler, and Josh Owen.

Jenny Farrell seems to be getting worse as the weeks go on.  I actually thought she did well early on, but lately there hasn't been anything special about any of her performances.

Justin David - I'm still waiting for Justin David to really hit the "wow" factor.  To date, he just hasn't hit it for me.

Casey Simpson (eliminated) contributed "Somebody Like You" to this album.  Simpson's performance was just average.  It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either.  Casey's live performance on March 15th was pretty horrendous though and it led to her elimination the next week.

Christy McDonald (eliminated) sang "Long Black Train" on this album.  This is literally one of the worst renditions that I have heard of any song.

Erica Jo is sneaking into the spotlight now.  I didn't really enjoy some of her earlier performances, but she brought it last night on the originals night.

Jody Evans is unique, but being "different" isn't always a good thing.  His style isn't working in his advantage so far on the show.

Tamika Tyler (eliminated) did a great job with "You Don't Even Know Who I Am."  I was pretty shocked when she got eliminated on last nights' episode, but you win some, you lose some.

Jason Meadows rounds out the top 3 in my opinion.  He was on top of his game last night with his original "Big Shot."

Jayron Weaver stole the spotlight, once again.  Weaver definitely has the most potential of winning this competition.

Josh Owen (eliminated)  I didn't have the opportunity to hear Josh Owen enough to fairly critique his ability.  I actually thought he probably should have made it past round one instead of Christy McDonald, but it's just my opinion.

Jayron Weaver and Tamika Tyler stole the spotlight on this album.  I would recommend this album just to hear them do their renditions.  All in all, the Nashville Star 2005 Finalists album is pretty good. - Janelle Landauer
