Modern Day Drifter
Street Date: May 24, 2005

Dierks Bentley released his sophomore album, "Modern Day Drifter" on May 24, 2005.  "Modern Day Drifter" includes his new single, "Lot Of Leaving Left To Do."  As much as Bentley is out on the road, I can see why he would have this single on his album.  Although "Lot Of Leaving Left To Do" isn't predominantly a favorite from Bentley, it is still a pleasant single.  "Come A Little Closer" is "the" single from Bentley.   "Modern Day Drifter" offers more potential singles than his self-titled debut.
"Good Things Happen" is backed vocally by Alison Krauss and that is a great addition to the song and album.  On "Good Man Like Me," the Del McCoury Band once again contributes to Bentley's album.  "So So Long" reminds me of "How Am I Doin'."  Bentley has a way with writing and choosing songs for his album that fits his style.  "So So Long" is one of those singles that you would almost expect from Bentley.  Overall, Bentley released a pretty inspiring album.  The main prospect for a sophomore album is if it overpasses the debut, and Bentley's sophomore album definitely outshines Bentley's debut on Capitol Nashville.
